I had to warn myself after I put these in the fridge, these are boozy smoothies filled with bourbon and wine that should NOT be taken to work for a snack. It is so automatic for me to just grab a smoothie in the fridge and take it for a mid-morning snack (like this blueberry and toasted oat one!) or drink with my breakfast, so I just have to keep telling myself that these are the after work kind. These boozy smoothies are more like a ‘It’s Monday after work and I just want to pretend that it’s patio weather here’ kind of drink. We are supposed to get a couple of inches of snow here in Milwaukee tonight, so needless to say I’m really just ready for daily sunshine and the potential for eating tacos outside.
Feel free to use any kind of sweet wine in this boozy smoothie. I just happened to have some cherry wine left over, which paired perfectly with the blueberry and banana combo here. See that giant bottle of bourbon in the background of the pictures? I wasn’t intending on buying such a bit bottle of bourbon, but when I went to the store for a nice-ish bourbon that wasn’t high end expensive stuff but wasn’t the lowest shelf bourbon, the only bottle they had was HUGE and looked like I was throwing a party soon. Nope, just me, myself, and my big bottle of bourbon. Enjoy these for Monday happy hour friends!

Snow in the forecast for this week? That’s awful. Go home, Milwaukee, you’re drunk.

BUH right?! They opened a bike share program here today, so it was snowing and they were like ‘everybody ride bikes!’. NOPE. I’m going to stay home and drink this.

Oh my gah, I love you for this! Bourbon in my smoothie?! Yes, puh-lease! Plus, the blueberry/banana combo is my favorite smoothie ever, obvi, so this booze-for-breakfast (okay, okay, dessert) is driving me bonkers!
The Frosted Vegan says
yes yes! I’m thinking boozy brunch would be good for this, righhhht?

Girl you cray! Wine AND bourbon in a smoothie!?? hahaha I had some cocktails on Saturday night that involved way too many different kinds of alcohols, and even though they were delicious I am still feeling it here on Monday morning. 😐 Yikes. But I’m recipe-testing a cocktail later this week and I’m EXCITED. Btw I use Bulleit for my homemade vanilla extract, so you could always start a big batch of that with all of that leftover bourbon. 😉

Girl I feel you on this! One of these and I’m done for the night, but it has blueberries so it’s healthy, right?! That’s an awesome idea! I know I’ll use it all…eventually 🙂
