It’s been pretty drink heavy around here lately, between my favorite matcha drink and a green smoothie packed to the brim with veggies, it just feels a little more fun to have a few extra drink recipes up my sleeve. Now that the weather is getting (relatively) nicer, I’m planning all the patio happy hours and outdoor porch sits my schedule can handle. One of my favorite things to do in the spring and summer is sit outside on our rickety porch in a folding chair and write blog posts or edit pictures. Since I work inside all day, being able to sit outside and do the work I love is one of the best feelings ever, especially when there is a glass of lemon grape sangria involved.
This grape sangria recipe was a product of a super frustrating recipe testing day. I attempted a fluffy vegan biscuit recipe (recipe TBD, still working on it!) and a version of brownies that didn’t quite pan out and they both were flops. I was SO excited to have both recipes finally nailed, but the baking gods heard my hope and were all NOPE, so I turned to a boozy drink instead. We’ve had a bottle of sweet white wine hanging out in the door of our fridge for a while and I knew it needed to be turned into a sangria recipe. Oftentimes, sangria is too sweet for me and I tend to wish it was a bit more on the tart side, so I turned to dropping in some lemon slices and boozing things up a bit more with a splash of rum. The rum is optional, but I liked the contrast it added to the sweet wine and tart lemons!
I hope you are having a lovely week! I’m hoping to finally bring you another baked recipe on Thursday, so cross your fingers and hope it works out for me.Print
