It’s been pretty drink heavy around here lately, between my favorite matcha drink and a green smoothie packed to the brim with veggies, it just feels a little more fun to have a few extra drink recipes up my sleeve. Now that the weather is getting (relatively) nicer, I’m planning all the patio happy hours and outdoor porch (more…)
To be completely honest, this lemon tart totally came about when I realized a few weeks ago that I had 100% forgotten about Pi Day, ack! I kind of whipped it together on a whim, not really thinking it would work out because it ended up being so easy and didn’t require an extra trip to the store, (more…)

I mentioned this in a previous post about non-boozy drinking, but really, drinking booze these days kind of makes me feel terrible after like..2 drinks, so I’m finding new ways to go alcohol free, but still get to take part in a fun drink! It’s so fun just sipping on water, when all you really want is a fun sparkly drink with a little sweetness to it. So, when I spied blackberries on sale over the weekend and discovered that I had way too many lemons rolling around in my produce drawer, this super simple blackberry lemon spritzer was born! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that throwing together a fun drink just takes bubbles, fruit, and a few berries.
I usually don’t keep that many bubbly things around the house, but when I spied some cans of Zevia Ginger Ale in the fridge, I knew it would be perfect for this drink. Just a little sweet, all the bubbles and it was on hand..so no trip to the store, wins all around! Especially good was that this blackberry lemon spritzer came together in minutes, no simple syrup and no muddling techniques required, so it really satisfied my need for something fun to drink after work, without all the work. If you’re like me and need a semi-happy hour after you get home from a long day, this is the drink for you! I’ve recently also discovered that snack plates (crackers, jams, etc.) are so easy to make and look fancy, so I usually pair a non boozy (or boozy, depends on the day) drink with a plate full of snacks and take a minute to relax after the day is done. I really can’t WAIT until it’s warm enough to relax on the porch with one of these blackberry lemon spritzers in hand, spring weather can’t come back soon enough!
If you aren’t lucky enough to find blackberries on sale like I did, any berry will do. This is also a perfect place to use up that frozen fruit you might have hanging around the freezer, especialyl if they are mixed berries or something tart, like cherries. The sweetness of the Zevia balances out any tartness in the berries, plus the squeeze of lemon juice is perfect for reviving any flavors that might have gone flat in the freezer. Cheers to spring being on its way!

If there is one thing that divides my husband and I, it’s love/lack of love for lemon desserts, like this sweet, light lemon poppyseed bread. I’m a total lover of lemon everything, in fact, I used to suck on lemons as a child (who knows why) and I almost love lemon desserts as much as I love chocolate ones. My husband, (more…)
A sweet and bright citrus salad, perfect for the winter time with a creamy lemon tahini dressing!
Happy weekend! I’m popping in quickly today to share a winter citrus quinoa salad that has been a staple for me the past few weeks. In an effort to keep with my intentions for the year, I wanted to find a salad that is filling, easy to throw together and hearty enough that I won’t be hangrily tearing through the cupboards for a snack in an hour. Mixing in a handful of pre-cooked quinoa and drizzling over a creamy lemon tahini dressing that even a tahini hater like me can love all seem to do the trick. (more…)
